Long time no speak!
What have you been up to?
We? Well, we (MeeMee and I) had a really good week frolicking on the streets of NYC, but that was over in a blink (sigh, I’m sad). And then, I lost my phone on Friday, after a very mild turn-up so as of now, I’m smartphone-less. If anybody knows where they’re sharing free iPhones in Lagos, leave me a note please! Not kidding!
I’m not too sad to be back in Lagos though, because things are gwan. Exciting events are happening! Like the Naija Hair Can Grow Salon Day Out this Sunday, 5th June, 2016!! This is an annual event hosted by Dabs of Naija Hair Can Grow, and Savvy & Chic Hair and Beauty Hub. I’m going to be speaking about my hair journey with other panelists to begin the event, and as you can see from the schedule of events below, you are in for a very interesting afternoon!
Schedule of Events: Naija Hair Can Grow Salon Day Out
12:30pm to 2pm: The Hair Journey Series
2:00pm to 2:30pm: ‘The Nigerian Hairlista’s Evolution- Using Nigerian Products to Grow Your Hair and the Naira’.
I’m really looking forward to this. Natural Nigerian will be speaking.
3:00pm to 4:00pm: Battle of the Hairlistas
This is a hairstyling competition. I got to see it last year, and it was really cool. Watch the teams battle with creativity, for the juicy prize. Last year, it was $1000 and gosh, now that I think about it, in this economy, why didn’t I sign up to join a team? Maybe next year!
4:00pm to 6:00pm: Wig Runway Show
Now, this, this is new. The name speaks for itself, and I’m ready y’all. Been thinking about wigs for a long minute and maybe this will tip me over.
I’m really looking forward to Sunday. I know so many brands, so many NIGERIAN brands will be there, and I already have my shopping shortlist.
P.S. Tickets are 1,000 Naira only.
Venue: The Red Carpet Hall, Oniru.
It’s on the street beside Four Points Sheraton Hotel, just drive down. The hall is on the left, opposite The Incubator, just after the City of David Church). Call 08090613325 if you get lost!!
If you see me, please holler at ya girl!
