I’m back with another natural hairstyle for the workplace that is simple and cute. I wore this updo for my first 2 weeks back at the office after my vacation and I was styled by the one and only MeeMee!
MeeMee is a stylist in New York City and you can book her here on styleseat.com/thekinkandi. She always shares her work with me so of course, I needed her gifted hands on my head when she came home for some days.
She thought I was joking but I was determined. See what she whipped up in her hurry to leave my house that evening? So nice! Flat twists are always a good idea.
For the twists in front, I set the ends overnight with perm rods to achieve this slightly curly finish. Trust me. It makes ALL the difference.
Does anyone else feel like January was a free trial and the year is just beginning proper? Probably because I spent the first half of January gallivanting, I have needed more time to get myself together in the office and real life in general. The first 2 days were overwhelming, I didn’t know where to start!
I tried to tackle this by just swinging into things. Nope. Nein. NO. Bad idea. I was all over the place. After a week of winging it and feeling guilty about the results, I finally pulled together a comprehensive to-do list and I am now working my way through it.
I’m a list person and I always run into trouble when I don’t plan or map things. This is mostly because my mind is very noisy, and I am also naturally forgetful. Having a plan on paper helps me quiet and focus my mind. Every person has a system that works for them and I’m much happier with myself when I stick to mine.
This year, there are a couple of things that I want to happen in my work life. Like, being published in a law journal, and other things I hope to share as they happen. I’m definitely going to need to make some changes (which is never easy) to prepare myself for these goals, but I’m going to be praying on them and willing myself to push through!
